You’ve got braggin’ rights!

By Elliott | May 12, 2008

Like many people, I have a tendency to ‘down play’ my accomplishments and may even keep some as secrets.

I always explore my reasons for doing things, and I’ve discovered that the reason why myself and many others do this is to - Hide Our Greatness… to seem less intimidating to those who may not be as accomplished.

Deep down we may feel guilty for being successful, especially when there are so many losers around us. We don’t want to offend them or seem boastful. This is analoguous to a lion tempering his roar so that he doesn’t offend the sheep - RIDICULOUS!

I don’t think God ever intended for us to “dim our lights” so that we may seem “meek and mild”. God glory’s in your accomplishments because, for all intents and purposes… they’re His.

So, I’m gonna brag for a moment… but not about myself. I’m gonna brag about Terry Moulton, one of the firemen in my Fitness Boot Camp. And in order to do this, I am also going to introduce you to the power of press releases.

What Are Press Releases And Why Should I Use em’?

Basically, a press release is a short “letter” that you write to let the media know about your accomplishments or announcements.

The media is always looking for stuff to do stories about. Most of the shit we see on the news is whatever garbage the media could find and decided that people may be interested in. But once in a while you’ll see a story about someone or a group of people who are doing something useful (like my FOX Sports interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaQdDCYkEx4).

When you send out a press release you are letting the media know about something that you think that their viewer would enjoy. They are as happy as hell to receive them… granted that your story idea is newsworthy.

You win because your story about: winning a baseball tournament, breaking a power lifting record, the birth of your child, you lost 100 pounds, your dog can bark Merry Christmas, your son can fart with his armpit - gets into the news and brings exposure to your cause.

If you have a website, press releases bring a TON of traffic to your site and helps increase your page ranking.

I use http://www.PRWeb.com to send all of my releases. It costs a few bucks, but the results have been outstanding!

Here is the press release that I sent out today about Terry Moulton, enjoy:

Fireman Stays Strong With St. Petersburg Fitness Boot Camp After Surviving 3 Heart Surgeries

Treasure Island Fireman Terry Moulton 54, awoke for a 5 am fire call one morning to find that he couldn’t stand up and instantly fainted with a near-death heart attack. After undergoing 3 heart surgeries and a lifestyle change, Terry’s doctor was amazed at his low cholesterol levels and his perfect score on a cardio stress test. When the doctor asked him how he had achieved such a physical transformation Terry told him he’d been pushing cars, flipping tractor tires and carrying 150 pound beer kegs at a high intensity fitness boot camp in St. Pete!

(PRWEB) May 14, 2008 — For the participants of Elliott Hulse’s Men’s Fitness Boot Camp in St. Petersburg FL, flipping 600 lb. tires, pushing trucks, dragging heavy sleds and bench pressing over 100lbs - is all in a days work. Most men join because they want to look better in their Armani suits or in their bathing trunks, but for one camper this type of training meant the difference between life and death.

Treasure Island Fireman Terry Moulton makes sure he is in attendance at the 6am camp every weekday morning. “After my heart attack and 3 surgeries, I don’t mess around with my health. I’ve got to be there, I have no other choice!” says Mr. Moulton. Terry is among 10-15 regular participants at this Strength Camp. “On Monday’s and Wednesday’s we lift weights, on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s we do cardio conditioning and on Friday’s we train like professional Strongmen with tires, kegs and sandbags. My health has improved drastically since training like this and it’s a lot of fun too!”

Six years ago Terry’s life consisted of intensive TV watching and massive plates of Polish sausage for dinner. One morning he awoke for a 5 am fire call only to find that he needed an ambulance! “I couldn’t stand up and his vision went blurry. I’ve saved the lives of hundreds of people who spoke of the same symptoms, I never thought that I would be the one having a heart attack.”

Terry’s certified personal trainer Elliott Hulse is amazed at how strong and fit Terry has become over the last few months. “Terry is one of the older guys in the camp and he can out-train the men in their 30’s any day.” says Hulse. On one occasion Terry and another camper had a contest to see who could dead lift the most weight and Terry took the prize by lifting 315 lbs. off the floor. “For a guy who had 3 heart surgeries, I’d say that’s pretty impressive.” says his trainer.

According to Mr. Moulton’s doctor, joining the men’s fitness boot camp was the best thing that Terry could have done for his health. “If I would have known how much fun it would be to get into shape, I would have been training at Elliott’s fitness boot camp 6 years ago.”
